Schedule notes
Portland Education Association contract 2025-2028, Appendix A-3 (2026-27, 183-day schedule; a 193-day version is Appendix A-4). Portland pays on a Professional Learning-Based schedule (Lanes I-V, steps 1-11) rather than degree lanes; the experience-based chart is used only for initial placement. A new bachelor's hire places at Lane I step 2 ($51,125) and a new master's hire at Lane I step 6 ($58,487). Lane I runs $51,125 to $67,690 and the top cell, Lane V step 11, is $104,602. Degree maximums are left blank because pay above placement depends on professional-learning lane movement, not degree. Largest district by Maine DOE FY26 K-8 attending count (4,382.5); Portland is not listed in the DOE secondary tuition report, so a comparable K-12 total is not published there and enrollment is left blank.
