State minimum salary
Nevada does not set a statewide minimum teacher salary schedule. Pay is negotiated district by district under NRS Chapter 288, and each of the 17 county school districts publishes its own schedule. NEA average salary and average starting salary are FY 2024-25. Districts are the 10 largest by Nevada Department of Education 2025-26 validation-day enrollment (October 1, 2025); State Public Charter School Authority schools are excluded because they are not a county district. Humboldt and White Pine post no current schedule, so their pay fields are left empty. Elko and Nye post scanned schedules, so their figures were read visually.
Match the school year, degree lane and credited experience. The published maximum is not a promise of starting placement. Confirm contract days, supplements and eligibility in each district’s official schedule.
Frequently asked questions

Does a master’s degree change the salary?
Check the master’s lane in the district’s published schedule. Degree supplements and placement rules vary; a missing value here does not mean there is no additional pay.
